x4fab I always wondered what could be done about skins.
These issues always bothered me:
- have skins (like certain fantasy Kunos skins) that I keep as they are needed for online racing
- have a large selection of intermixed skins from different racing series, seasons, etc
At a minimum I would love to have the feature of disabling select skins (similar how you can DISABLE cars but not completely delete them).
In the user interface the smoothest way to do that would be to add a context menu item "disable / enable skin" and the skin should move visually into a second stack of disabled skins.
A nice fast shortcut would be also to allow say "press CNTRL + left mouse click" on a skin and switch it's status into "disabled" or "enabled".
This way people could very quickly get rid of certain unwanted skins (like those Kunos fantasy skins you only keep for online racing).
As a feature when entering an online server where any of the disabled skins is used, the disabled skin should still be loaded as normal as to not created any extra work to have to enable them one by one before a race.
As an extra feature it would be great if we could sort skins in the user interface into several stacks (the game should still see them as one big mixed folder but in the user interface we could have a stack for 2018 N24h, one for 2017 Blancpain, etc …).
Each stack of skins could be easily assigned tags which would also help when searching for a specific skin in the custom race grid.
As a final thought: what we have today is already absolutely amazing and all of the above really is pie in the sky stuff on a microscopic level ;-)
Adding a tag feature for skins would go a loooooooong way as many skin makers do not bother with consistent skin naming schemes so it can be hard to find all those skins for a specific event - a tag would make that super easy.
